Damian Salazar Short Biography

Damian Salazar was born on March 7th, 1992 in Argentina. At age 6, he discovered his passion for music and was introduced to the acoustic guitar. At an early age, Damian was already playing with local bands and artists in Argentina. In 2006, Damian was introduced as an urban musician in "Calle Florida" Argentina, catching the attention of thousands of people in South America. His unique style of playing led Damian to meet legendary musician Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. This gave Damian the opportunity to be part in a video documentary for the song "The Child Will Fly" where he met other music legends such as Eric Clapton, Shakira, and Gustavo Cerati.

In 2013, Damian suffered head injuries that almost caused his death after being attacked coming out of a local sports event in Argentina. After multiple surgeries and physical therapy Damian was able to recover from such tragic event. His determination and passion for music never was faded.

Damian Salazar is known as the best young guitarist in Argentina and his musical influences include acts like Pink Floyd, Queen, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, Dire Straits, & Rata Blanca.

Damian lives in Hurlingham, a town of 170,000 people on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

He plays every day in the streets of the Argentina capital, often on Corrientes and Montevideo Avenues and also in Florida Street which is forbidden to vehicles, which makes it an ideal place where he can express his talent in lyrical or flamboyant licks.

You can also meet him very often in Puerto Madero from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
