The Art Nouveau Stratocaster was designed and built by J.W. Black, and Ron Chacey who did the intricate engraving on the body and inlay on the neck.

This Art Nouveau model was the very first Aluminum body Stratocaster made by the Custom Shop for the 1993 National Association of Musical Merchants (NAMM) show in January of 1993. It pre-dates the Harley Davidson, and Aloha Stratocaster.

This model is called, " The NAMM Metal Engraved Art Nouveau Stratocaster", of which there were only 4 produced.

Of the 4, this one was the first one started (Prototype) and the last one completed as it is much more heavily engraved than the other 3 Art Nouveau models.

One of the other 3 was personally made to Bob Dylan’s specifications by J.W Black with input from Cesar Diaz, Dylan’s then guitar tech.

Bob Dylan's instrument was sold it in 2007.

Dave Stewart has one that you can see him play on "Heart of Stone", "So Long Ago" & other songs as well.

This guitar has been featured in several issues of The Fender Frontline magazine, on several Fender Calendars including 1999 (December Centerfold) and the Front Cover of the year 2000 calendar.
